Futonsandbeanbags.com is happy to provide free shipping to its customers, within the limitations imposed by our manufacturers. We rely on their shipping departments, so it’s beyond our control.

These limitations stem from the fact that some of our manufacturers do not ship beyond the US 48-state continental boundaries.

Manufacturers of large furniture items do not ship overseas and to Alaska and Hawaii because of concerns about Returns, Damage in Shipping, and trans-border issues.

It’s just not practical to ship large furniture items beyond the US borders for a host of reasons: The cost is prohibitive. If there is damage in shipping, there are problems tracking it to make appropriate claims. If customers wish to return items, customers would be responsible for the cost of return shipping.

There is good news!  Most manufacturers of futon covers, our specialty, are more than happy also to ship futon covers to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

We Still Ship to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico!

We do not pass along the entire cost of shipping outside the "lower 48 states!"
Futonsandbeanbags still honors its offer to provide "Free Shipping"
by paying all the shipping cost to the
nearest point of departure beyond the 48 US States.

That means that you get free shipping to the nearest departure point, and all you are responsible to pay is the remainder of the transport cost to your destination.

For example, if you live in Puerto Rico, Futonsandbeanbags.com will pay the cost of shipping the product to Miami and you will be responsible for the additional shipping to Puerto Rico.

If you live in Hawaii, we will pay the cost of shipping the product to Los Angeles or San Francisco. You will only have to pay the additional cost to Hawaii.

If you live in Alaska, your shipping cost to Seattle is included in your advertised price and you will only be responsible for the extra shipping beyond Seattle.

If you live in Canada, your shipping cost to Seattle, Minneapolis, Rochester, or Burlington, VT, for example, is included in your advertised price and you will only be responsible for the extra shipping beyond the border, as well as all customs fees and delivery on the Canadian side of the border.

You will still benefit from the same "Free Shipping" that everyone does!

For the typical full size Futon Cover, the additional cost to Hawaii or Alaska is usually about $20. The typical cost to Puerto Rico is about $35. The price is slightly higher for queen sizes, but futon covers are very standard.

What about Futon Mattresses?

Futon mattresses are large, heavy items that still incur large shipping costs beyond the continental USA. We will obtain quotes for you from our manufacturers to ship to Hawaii and Alaska. Some customers proceed with the order, but most, understandably, find the shipping costs prohibitive.
