Important Bunk Bed Information

BEFORE You Purchase a Futon Bunk Bed, Twin Bunk Bed, or Loft Bed, please spend a minute reading this important safety information to prevent serious injury.

Kids and college students love Bunk Beds, Futon Bunk Beds, and Loft Beds because they offer more space, a little adventure, and a cozy nest for sleeping. Please read and follow carefully this warning information to avoid injuries from using your bunk or loft bed.

  • Please be available when the bunk bed is delivered to check for damage to the box or the contents. Please advise the driver immediately if you notice any damage to the box or bunk/loft.

  • On the top bunk, please use only mattresses sized to fit perfectly. The top bunk is generally a twin, so use only a twin-size mattress: 39" x 75".

  • Please do not use a mattress more than 8" thick.

  • Please check to ensure that the surface of the mattress is 5" or more below the top of the guardrails.

  • Always use guardrails on all sides of the top bunk, particularly on the long sides.

  • Place the bunk bed tightly against the wall to prevent children from becoming trapped between the bunk and wall.

  • Regularly check that the ladder, guardrails, and other parts are tightly screwed down and properly in place.

  • Never allow a child under 5 years old on the top bunk.

  • Teach children always to use the ladder for getting up and down from the top bunk.

  • Respect the manufacturer weight restrictions! Do not allow a person heavier than the weight restrictions to use the top bunk.

  • Don't ever allow your children to jump on a bunk bed - either on upper or lower bed.

  • As with all children, using a night light will help them use the bunk or loft safely.

  • Do not hang any item from any part of the bunk bed to prevent the danger of strangulation.
