Will The Futon Cover Fit My Mattress?

The standard size futon cover fits a mattress that is 6-inches to 8-inches thick. If your mattress thickness is within this range, the futon cover will fit well on your existing mattress. It will be slightly loose on the 6-inch mattress and will fit snugly on the 8-inch thick mattress.

If your futon mattress is 4" thick, the futon cover will be too loose and will not look its best. You can contact Futonsandbeanbags.com to arrange to get a slightly thinner futon cover at a nominal extra charge (about $10). It is not much more expensive, but will make a large difference in the futon cover's appearance on your futon mattress.

If your futon mattress is more than 8" thick, you can add loft (thickness) to most futon covers so they will accommodate the additional thickness. There is a small charge, about $10-$15, to add loft to a futon cover.

Not all futon cover manufacturers will add additional loft, but both SIS Covers and Lifestyle Covers will make the cover to your loft specification. (The manufacturer's name is given on the product page for every futon cover in the upper left corner of the page.)

If you have or are ordering an Otis Bed futon mattress (for example, the Haley 90, Haley 110, Haley 150, or the Moonshadow), you will need one additional inch of loft for an Otis mattress that is 8 inches thick.
