What are Loungers? They are actually three pieces of furniture in one. They begin as a chair or a full sofa. Typically, they sit on legs so they are much closer to futon couches or regular sofas than, for example, foam furniture or old-style futons that sat fully on the ground.

The arms fold down to one or often multiple reclining positions so a person can sit sideways, supported at one end by the uplifted arm, but with one's legs extended and feet up (who doesn't need that at the end of the day?!). The opposite arm can be extended all the way down, flush with the surface of the sofa to accommodate those long legs. What a wonderful way to read a great book or watch a TV program!

Does the lounger stop there?

It keeps on going to fully recline into a futon bed that can help out in a pinch with visiting guests who stay overnight. It's ready when they are because the lounger is easy to operate and quick to transform into a sofa bed. Just lower both arms to the fully reclined position and pull out the stored additional leg (for support). Rearrange the pillows and add some sheets and blankets and Voila! A sofa bed to go!
