Mattress Thickness and Cover Size

Thicker the Better?
Generally speaking, the thicker the mattress the more comfortable
the sleeping surface. We have a tendency to buy the thickest mattress
we can afford, which is not altogether a bad idea.
There are some limiting factors. As you know, you can buy a super
thick mattress for a bed and then not be able to find sheets easily
that will fit around the 10” or more depth. Not surprisingly,
you also have to be concerned about the depth of your futon mattress
when selecting the correct futon cover size. Please be aware that
your futon cover will need to match your mattress thickness. Fortunately,
a custom-size futon cover adds only a few dollars to the cost.

6” and 8” thick. If you are buying a 9” or thicker
mattress, you should contact us to request the same thickness in
any size futon cover that you buy. All of our futon cover manufacturers
will make the thickness of cover that you need for a slight additional
cost. It’s not costly (maybe $5-$10), but will guarantee that
you will get the cover size you really need and won’t have
to do battle with it to get it back on the mattress each time you
clean it.
