What will be the primary use of the futon mattress?

First
Consideration:
What will be the primary use of the futon mattress --
sitting or sleeping?
A futon mattress is extremely functional. It can serve primarily
as a couch for sitting and do double duty as an occasional extra
bed for guests. A futon mattress might be used every night for sleeping
and kept permanently in the reclined position, or it might be folded
up for sitting during the day.
Some futon mattresses can be used in a reclining position for watching
television. We carry many complete futons that are loungers; that is, you can leave one "arm" up and fold the other arm down to create a comfortable lounger. Some even swivel to change directions!
A futon mattress used in a guest room as a couch will
look nice every day but can be a bed at night for the occasional
guest.
We frequently see customers purchasing a futon mattress for a weekend
cabin because of their spacing-saving, couch-to-bed feature. Anyone
who’s lucky enough to have a studio apartment in a city (the
reverse of the country get-away cabin) knows that a futon bed will
be the only thing that will work in that tiny space.
You might want a futon bed and futon mattress for your child’s
room for the same reason. Kids benefit from lots of floor space
– they can create little worlds where their imaginations flourish.
The parent who joins them on the floor for some creative fun is
spending quality time with his or her children. So buy your child
a futon bed and buy floor space where your children will grow their
imagination and creativity!
How a futon mattress will be used, how frequently, and by whom,
are important factors to consider when purchasing a futon mattress.
For sitting, most people prefer a softer, more
cushioned futon mattress. If your futon mattress will mainly serve
as a sofa, select a combination of cotton and foam, such as our
Polycore, Double Foamcore, or the M2 futon mattresses, or go cottonless
with the Moonshadow (our #1 best seller!), the Haley 90, or the
Monarch Futon Mattress.
For Lounging, check out our Ultra Loungers and Rebel-X, which assume multiple positions for watching TV and reading a great book with your feet up!
For Sleeping, people tend to prefer something
a bit more firm in a futon mattress, yet with some plushness. If
sleeping is the primary use (Iike every night!), then consider mattresses
that build in more support. Here’s some suggestions to get
started:
The Stratosphere: Right in between plush, softness and supportive
firm.
The Haley 110: Known as the “luxurious firm” mattress
The Haley 150: Extra-firm for great support
The Marcella: High quality, firm supreme cottonless futon mattress

or only occasionally
